Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Darn the theif… curse him that he’ll loose his fingers, feet and testicles… penis as well. My car.. no, gf’s car got broken into yesterday. I drove her to work.. so i parked at the Tun Sambathan monorail. Itz ez for me take monorail, than to drive coz the monorail station’s just rite outside my office.

But heck… for convinient sake, it wasn’t much for a good sake. Fallen victim to the menacing thieves….

What’s lost? a pioneer cd head unit and coins.. alot of coins. Damaged rear window rubber seal.. scratched window and 2 broken hearts.. mine & gf’s of course.

Here are some picz to see…  i not too sure how they got into the car, the doors were unlocked, rear right side window seal forced open, not all.. and left rear window was down. So… where was the entry?  Oh yea, i spent almost an hour just to put the rubber seal back in place… darn la.. even the frame was dented. Bloody hell

Coreani_1 Terry Fox Run KL

Alittle story bout it, from the site…

The Run is named after Terry Fox, the young man who inspired these events.

Terry Fox was 18 years old when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. His right leg was amputated above the knee. Whilst in hospital, Terry was moved by the suffering of cancer patients, particularly children. So much so that he resolved to run across Canada (a distance of 8,500 kilometers) to raise money for cancer research. He called his journey the “Marathon of Hope”. Terry Fox, an amputee, ran a marathon (42 kilometers) a day for 143 consecutive days - a total distance of 5,373 kilometers. At that stage, Terry was forced to abandon his run as the cancer spread to his lungs. Terry Fox died at the tender age of 21. Before he died, he knew that a fund-raising event would be held each year, with the same objectives as the Marathon of Hope - to help find a cure for cancer.

Since 1981, the Terry Fox Run has raised more than RM1.3 billion in aid of cancer research around the world. You would be interested to note the Terry Fox Foundation requires that the funds raised be used for cancer research in the country where the Run is held. The Terry Fox Run in Malaysia has since 2001 raised more than RM500,000/-.

Anyway, i participated the run… perhaps due to the fact that i face the poster at every corner of my office building that it had built the sense of guilt in me. It was fun actually… meeting ppl of different nationality, race, etc… they are all friendly. Here are some picz to share…
