Last tribute to my partner….

Saturday, May 20th, 2006

This is a sad day… my partner had just past away.. actually yesterday afternoon at +/-2pm, leaving behind 2 sons (5yrs old & 7 months) and his beloved wife. Apparently he complained a chest pain, and consulted a GP, which had instructed him to go to the hospital straight… but he went home instead, perhaps to pack his stuffs or whatsoever… but he couldn’t make it. He was overcame by the pain that he just collapsed and past away… rite infront of his wife.

According to his father, prior before he died, he managed to make a last call back home to remind his dad that if anything were to happen to him, he would want to be buried back at his hometown, Batu Pahat.

The moment i received a phone call telling me that he might be dead. I was dead stoned man.. stoned and pale as my gf told me. I fumbled to search for his phone number…. called and only to be answered by a sobbering sound of his crying wife. I was devestated… crest fallen. I really didn’t know what to say to his wife. I put down the phone… spread the news to the rest of my colleagues… even to those on assignment at outstation. They were all devestated… as the gentleman of MIS had left us.

Straight i left LowYatt plaza in a hurry… desperately calling his friends on his whereabout. I just gotta see him.. for the final time… and of course.. his family. And fuck.. of all the time, my phone battery went flat.. but thank goodness, my gf lend me her phone. Managed to reach Hospital Kuala Lumpur at late evening.. saw his whole family there at the Forensic Dept… they were determining the cause of this death. Apparently it was due to heart attack.

I did saw him for the final time before they wrap him up in the traditional malay burial custom. He was pale… eyes closed.. as if he was sleeping. His wife was crying over his body.. holding his favourite pillow. His eldest son didn’t want to see his dad for the final time… and his youngest son probably doesn’t know a clue on what had happened to his dad. I didn’t had the heart to take anymore of this.. so i walked out to the hall way.

Seriously.. this really happened so suddenly. Yes.. i know, death don’t book a schedule with you to bring you away, but hey… i just spoke to him last friday, a day before he past away. We were still happily joking over the phone planning our next assignment at Kota Kinabalu, which is actually going to take place this coming friday.

He was really one hardworking dude… very responsible and a real gentleman. I always took for granted as i know, working with him would be somewhat of a priviledge coz he is always so well prepared… as a matter of fact i always rely on him on things to prepare…. i just bring my body and brain. Looks like it is a wake up call for me. I’ll have to complete our remaining 4 assignments.. on my own, but i believe he will support me, from above.

We, the Ernst & Young MIS dept will deeply miss him. Last tribute to the good man, the gentleman, a father, and a husband… a friend. God bless him and his family. May he rest in peace.

Purple rain purple rain
Purple rain purple rain
Purple rain purple rain

I only wanted 2 see u bathing in the purple rain

I never wanted 2 be your weekend lover
I only wanted 2 be some kind of friend
Baby I could never steal u from another
Its such a shame our friendship had 2 end

Purple rain purple rain
Purple rain purple rain
Purple rain purple rain

Pardon me for history classes… but sorta bored at office on this saturday morning. Tot i would take at least 1/2 day to settle my work, but turned out, i took a mere 10 minutes to settle all. Aikz…

which camera to use?

Friday, May 19th, 2006

I have been playing wit my company’s HP Photosmart R707, since last night til now. Have been comparing a couple of shots against my trusty old Canon Ixus V3. Took numerous shots, from night exposures, close ups, portrait, light sources, and alot of outdoor landscapes.

Initially my canon was really trailing behind in night shots. The R707 was able to produce crispier shots, while my canon was somewhat blunt… gutted weii.. my favourite digicam went down to a pc manufacturer digicam. And portrait shots, the HP produced more details and colour compared to the again… blunt canon. But well, its 4 yrs old already, very unfair to expect it to go against the new 5.1 megapix rite?

But somehow or rather, my canon faired better in shooting at light sources and daytime landscape shots. It was able to produce more natural colours.. u know.. you get what u see from your eyes. the HP however, the shots came out somewhat very fake… like as if it was painted on a canvas instead of a photoshot.

But i thought it may be the settings… so i tried again on the HP, and yet again.. it just couldn’t produce the performance it gave last night. So, the canon won hands down today. And i just realised that the canon was using ISO100 for night shot, which i believe was the down fall to it. I have always been using ISO50 for it. I compared some other ISO50 shots, and it is far much better than the ISO100 shots. The ISO100 has way too many noises… ugly ugly.

So.. i believe the HP had only won of the challenge, which is the portrait and close up shots. It gave more real colour and sharper images. Must be due to the 5.1 megapix. But however, the canon won the remaining challenges, by producing more realistic colours and clearity.

Final verdict… it is Canon 3, HP 2, Draw 1

set back… my canon’s battery runs flat very quickly.. due to years of recharging i guess.. too expensive to buy a new battery.. almost 200 buckz weiii.

Think i’ll reconsider of buying an SD card for the HP la… don’t want to waste $$ on something that wont give the best result. I believe i’ll be doing alot of daytime shots. Or… i just bring 2 cameras along. hahahaha.

Got another 2 hrs to decide.. to get or not to get. Itz only 65 buckz anyway for a 512mb Kingston SD… hmm hmmm…

Haunted office?

Friday, May 19th, 2006

Just got msg’ed by my colleague over ST on my office being haunted. Apparently our admin gal heard keyboard typing in the middle of the night.. alone. And guess what, from my boss’s cubicle.

hmm… well, can’t deny the fact that "they" exist all around us. I did work past midnite a few times… but touch wood, i wasn’t the "lucky" one. Heard that some of the auditors whom work late a nite even saw ‘Them"… eeee… greepz.

Soo full… burp

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Whoa.. so darn full. Had dinner with boss…. just a small discussion bout office thingy ah. Didn’t really participate in the discussion anyway, coz i’m just an invited guest among the commitee members. I just enjoy the nice meal at secret recipe. hahaha.

Anyway.. darn still stuck at office. Just solved the backup issue at Ipoh server. Stupid CA arcserve… :-P

All clear!

Yet proven negative again… scans and profession feedbacks were all negative. Wohooo! cheers on. But then again… gotta keep it low and truely celebrate til the next bleed. :P

darn cheap stuff!

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

Looks like the saying "Cheap things don’t come good…. Good things don’t come cheap" sure live up to it’s reputation.

The RM55 wireless mouse just decided to rebel against my control after 2 days of usage. It would just dance accross my screen by itself. Darn it… and double darn it as i lost the receipt. Don’t care.. gonna drop by at Low Yatt and hope for a change.
